Diversity used to be a superficial ‘tick in the box’ around age, gender, or cultural diversity. Thankfully, today, the idea of D&I takes on a much more powerful overtone – one that invites a uniqueness of talent, skill, and contribution to deliver an outcome on behalf of a team, department, division, or organization. But even then, diversity is only half-served if we’re unable to orchestrate those unique perspectives inclusively to deliver an outcome in which each constituent is justly acknowledged and valued – and whose object (customer/market/etc) experiences the synergy/value/harmony as a result. We might add that the competitors recognize it too!
